Tra Que Vegetable Village – 11 mins

Nestled next to the peaceful Cổ Cò river, the lush green Trà Quế vegetable village is more than 300 years old.

This place is about 3km northeast of Hoi An city center, spreading nearby 40 hectares. The vegetable village is rotated and intercropped by households with more than 20 different types of leafy vegetables and spices; considered the largest vegetable granary in the Quang Nam – Da Nang area. Specializes in providing clean, organic vegetables all year round and is also a unique destination not to be missed when traveling to Hoi An.

In the beginning, the village grew many types of herbs, including a vegetable called Nhự Quế, which has the strong scent of cinnamon. In the 19th century, King Gia Long had the opportunity to visit and enjoy the taste of vegetables here, so he named the village Tra Que. That name has been passed down and used to this day.

On April 4, 2022, Tra Que vegetable village was officially recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage. Since then, it has become an interesting tourist destination, attracting many domestic and foreign tourists.

The ideal time to go to Tra Que vegetable village

Trà Quế vegetable village is an outdoor attraction, so weather factors need to be taken into account to have the most meaningful and memorable experience. February to April and August to December are great times to visit the village. Because this is the time when the weather is cool and dry, and the vegetable garden is always green and the most developed of the year. The air at this time is extremely fresh and cool, allowing you to relax and enjoy the peaceful pace of life.

Additionally, during the day, you should arrive early in the morning between 5:00 AM. and 7:30 AM. or after 4:00 PM. This time is also the time when farmers go to the fields to care for and harvest vegetables. You can join them, chat and learn more experiences.

The village is always open to visitors every day of the week with a ticket price of only 35,000 VND/person, including all experiential activities at the village.
